How much have they been “using or abusing?
NOTE: If they’ve used once or twice, then I would likely not report it as they have experimented and this is typical of most teenagers. However, if it has been an ongoing problem, then I would ask the student how willing they are to change. IF they are willing, I would likely give it a week or two with close monitoring and see how they are doing. If they are addicts, I would most certainly bring the parent(s) in. However, it they are addicted, most parents are already aware on some level.
