How much housing benefit in scotland ?

You have to ask your council for their current ‘Rates of Local Housing Allowance’ which are reviewed and published every year. Local Housing Allowance has replaced Housing Benefit since April 2008 for private tenants, so that is what you need to be looking at. The Shelter website is very useful for anything to do with housing, and here is their link to advice centres in Scotland if you are still stuck: http://scotland.shelter.org.uk/getadvice… LHA does seem to be worked out on family size and the number of rooms you legally need, so they may not pay for a 4 bed, so you also need to find out your local council’s policy on this. Good luck.
