How Much Irony Intended?
Back in June were telling you about Kid Rock advocating file sharing and distributing music through p2p networks. The artist was actually encouraging his fans to pirate his music and share it anyway they want to. Now, of course, that only added to its (somehow decreased?) popularity and helped maintaining his rebel image he so much promoted. However, as we noticed that his “speech” about how is OK for kids to go out and just steal whatever stuff they want and need is still catchy, we decided to give it another look and perhaps so should you. Is it just me or the artist is only apparently launching such a message and he is in fact making use of one of the most common and old ways of transmitting something by saying the exact opposite – IRONY.
