The first issue also debuted, for the first time, a new character, Superman, capable of lifting cars and tossing them across the street. The rare issue sold to a man living in New York. The man, actually already had the issue in his collection but it was of poor quality. He bought that issue for around $300,000. When he found out a high quality copy of the first issue was for sale for one million, he snapped it up. There are only 100 copies of this first issue and all are low quality, of these, only two are high quality.
