How much loft insulation is required to stop heat escaping?

0

The current government standard of loft insulation as defined by the British Building Regulations Council is 270mm of loft material. If it has been over 10 years since you had your loft insulated, you may well need a top up of material to bring your home up to current regulation standards. What if my loft is partially or fully boarded? If your loft is partially or fully boarded, we will require your permission to lift the boards in order to lay the insulation material or alternatively we can insulated on top of the boards to ensure the correct amount of material is installed.
