How Much Money Do Orthopedic Surgeons Make?

0

I’m starting my orthopaedic surgery residency this summer, so I’ve just gone through most of this stuff with my program. In general, the amount residents are paid varies by year and by hospital, but it’s on the order of $50k to $60k per year. During residency, most programs give 2 weeks off per year, which must be taken in 1 week blocks. As to the amount attending orthopaedic surgeons make, it’s been answered in many forums, but the 25th-75th percentile is generally $300k-$600k, I think. It varies significantly based on practice location and specialty.
