In the United States, a carpenter's pay can vary from state to state, city to city, as well as whether or not the worker is in a union. For example, New York City has the highest paid union carpenters ($70+/hr full package) and yet you can find some of the lowest paid non-union carpenters ($5 or less an hour/no benefits.) On the other hand, in some southern US states, there are union carpenters making $11/hr. In most cases it depends on where one lives/works.
