How much money does an ESL teacher earn?
In Texas there is a Texas Education Agency minimum state base that all teachers get paid based on their years of experience. Each school district can, and most do, offer LOCAL pay stipends for all teachers, and additional supplements for specialty areas. ESL and and Spanish generally are considered hard to fill areas. The district I work for pays an additional $1500 per year for a Spanish teacher and has paid as high as $3000. ESL is averaged at $1,500 per year additional.
