How much of the cost of study away will Macalester cover for our son or daughter? Will it cover airfare and housing, for example?
The Financial Aid Office will make an award that takes into account all of the essential costs named above, and balances that against your reported family income and resources; trying as much as possible to ensure that your family does not have to pay more than your usual contribution to the cost of semester spent on campus. (And assuming that your son or daughter did not pick a very high-cost program or destination!). They will usually do so in late April for students who will begin study abroad in the fall, and in late November for those going abroad in spring semester.
