Most people can fill the saliva collection tube 3/4ths full in about 15 minutes. Tubes must be filled 3/4ths full. Some people can fill the tube faster and some take longer. If you are dehydrated, you will make less saliva and it will take longer. You may drink water up until 5 minutes prior to starting the saliva collection. (Nothing after you’ve started collection though.
