How much should it cost for a new combi boiler to be fitted?

I had a new combi boiler fitted in my flat at the end of 2006. It cost just under £2000 supplied and fitted (including power flush) with 5-year guarantee. Although I’m not sure the guarantee is worth anything! Your quote sounds about right. I got 3 quotes; 1 Under £2000 + 5 year guarantee 2 Under £2000 + 2 year guarantee 3 £3000 + (British Gas – what a surprise) Whatever you do don’t get British Gas to do the job. They wanted to charge me £3000+, which included a £300 discount! The salesman told me it costs £400 to register a new boiler with the local authority. I rang my local council to be told it costs £2.50! Also, do you know that all new boilers have to be condensing boilers, by law?
