How much tips to be given to the waiters, porters, drivers, representatives and the guides?
Tips are solely dependent on the quality of services provided. We suggest you to give a small amount of money for each service, to insure prompt and reliable services. In tourist restaurants or hotels a 10% service charge is often added to bills, in which case there is no need to tip a waiter. In smaller places, where tipping is optional, you need only tip a few rupees to a waiter, not a percentage of your bill. For guides and representatives it depends on how informative, knowledgeable, resourceful and helpful they are.
