How much trouble can I get into if caught hosting a hotel party invovling underage drinking?
You know what, this question is a bit trickier than most might think. You are under 21. You have friends that are over 21. You have friends that are under 21. Most of you will likely be drinking. Most likely the one’s who bought the alcohol are of legal age. Therefore, those who supplied the alcohol are likely to get in much more trouble than you are. Why? The cops will likely tell your over 21 friends that since they are of legal age, they are responsible for the minor’s. Since alcohol is involved, and it is highly likely that the legal drinkers bought the alcohol to the party, they will get busted. If you get in trouble you will likely get cited for minor in possession, as will all of your underage buddies. The legal drinker’s may get cited with contributing to the delinquency of a minor (supplying the alcohol).
