How much vaccine has Santa Clara County received?
In the first week of October, 14,000 doses of the nasal spray form of the vaccine was sent to public and private medical providers in our county. A second shipment was 26,000 doses, of both the nasal spray and flu shots was sent to the Public Health Department and redistributed to community medical provides. As of November 4, 2009, 10,200 more doses were shipped directly to 85 medical providers, and another 34 providers are being shipped an additional 5,200 doses of the vaccine this week (week of November 2). While the arrival of vaccine is good news, this still represents a very limited supply for Santa Clara County.
