While most junkyards pay based on weight, depending on the type of car, it could have more value for the parts, in which case you could get upwards of $500 for the junker. Your best case scenario is if you go to different locations and check. Also try listing it on ebay, since many times car enthusiasts tend to buy junkers for the parts.

They pay based on weight. And prices vary with what they can sell scrap for, and also how far away the car is (if they have to tow it). If you can save them the tow and get it down there, you'll get more. Figure $100 if they have to get it, maybe $160 if you can bring it to them. ... more
