You could make alot more by advertising "hand wash and wax", do it at your driveway by appointment, start with a free online ad on Craigslist. Think outside the box a little here. I had a big detail shop from 14 years old until after high school. There is alot of money in it, but you have to be your own boss and be willing to work hard. People will pay well for good service and be loyal customers. ... more

That depends on the minimum wage for your state and the neighborhood the car wash is in. If it is an affluent neighborhood washing higher end cars, then you earn more in tip money than if it is in a poorer neighborhood then the tips will be less. ... more

if its a "higher end" car wash place, you can make about $12/hour plus tips (which are usually pretty good!! about 75% of your salary)..if its your run of the mill, see them everywhere kinda car wash, minimum wage... ... more
