The frequency of filter mat cleaning depends on the environmental conditions. Normally, a weekly cleaning should be sufficient. Friday might be a good day, just before the weekend. The longer the mats are wet the higher is the risk of getting a bacterial or fungal contamination. For this reason we recommend to clean the mats and store them in a dry place as soon as the Incubation System is no longer needed, even if it is just for one day. However, every cleaning process removes parts of the surface coating which is essential for a correct function. Replace the filter mats if the coating is used up.
