How often must the airworthiness review be carried out?
An airworthiness review has to be carried out initially with the introduction of Part 42 and then annually. However, if the aircraft has been managed by the same CAMO in the preceding 12 months, the validity of the airworthiness review certificate may be extended twice for 12 months on each occasion, provided the CAMO is satisfied the aircraft is still airworthy. If the CAMO managing the aircraft’s continuing airworthiness changes, then there is no ability to extend the airworthiness review certificate and a complete review must be carried out by the date the next annual review is due.
