The average longevity of a cat is usually 15-20 years but some cats have lived well into the 20s.

I would say 2-3 years if you don’t put enough time in playing with them. Cats like company. If they are single, they will get bored. But if there is enough things going on in the house, like children, young adults that will play with them, then they will play as long as their is someone that wants to play. But it is true, as they get older, They just like me time too. Sitting in front of a window is sometimes all they need.

Like people, cats are individuals and have different personalities and energy levels. Some cats are lazy from the beginning, while others don’t slow down until age-related problems like arthritis force them to. The average lifespan of an outdoor cat is 5, while an indoor cat is 12-15, though cats of both have been known to live into their twenties. At 7 a cat is considered a senior and may begin slowing down and becoming less active. Cats with chronic health problems or who have experienced abuse, neglect, frequent pregnancies, or are prone to fights may slow down earlier due to the physical toll on their bodies. There is no answer that applies to all cats, the best you can do is take into account your individual cat’s background, health, energy level, and personality and take your best guess.
