How old do I need to be to book a hotel room?
The minimum legal age to rent a hotel room is 18, as that is the minimum age an individual can enter into a contract. (It is also the age of consent for consensual sex). However, most hotels as policy require that all guests be 21 – in order to avoid noise, damages etc. from people using the hotel for parties (think “Spring Break”). If you book the room over the internet or phone using your credit card and if, when you show up, you give the desk clerk no reason for alarm, you’ll probably be alright.
