While I would advise not jumping to ADHD, it is a real disorder. Yes, it is a growing problem, but so is Autism. It’s just that now these disorders are being understood and researched more fully. Twenty-thirty years ago, these kids would have just been labeled as the bad kids. Testing can be done as early as four. That’s when we tested my son. He is definitely ADHD. Meds do not cause Autism! Yes, there can be side affects to meds, but that’s where cooperation and honesty with your healthcare provider is crucial. My son has been on meds since he was close to age 5, we did some herbal/natural things prior to jumping to meds and they did help, but the difference with meds is night and day. I made the decision to put him on meds while my husband was deployed. He was resistant to the idea, but he wasn’t here. When he came home, I planned a day to be out of the house and just have the two of them together and I didn’t give my son his meds. Within an hour, my husband was calling me asking wha

Talk to her dr. I think that is so over-diagnosed nowadays, personally. Research it on the web and see what the true signs are. I taught elementary school for seven years and I think I had only two TRUE adhd students. Other parents wanted their kids tested often though. Sometimes it’s just that they behave poorly, I’m not saying that’s the case with your child. But if your child can sit still for tv or some other activity they enjoy then it’s probably not adhd. Kids with that can never sit still and have a hard time focusing on anything. If your child is hyper make sure he or she is getting enough excercise to release energy. Kids need tons of excercise. When I was growing up kids were always playing outside, riding bikes, etc. And you didn’t hear as much of this adhd talk.

They wanted to put my 4 yr old on it when she went into preschool and I said no so theyw ouldnt accept her. I thats when I started homeschooling her and my 6 yr old. I will remian doing this becuz I dont want her on that meds. It can cause autisum, seizures.tourettes and much more even a risj of heart attack. I am not going to give my daughter this to only worry about her getting something else. And if you dont beleive me on the side effects..go look up all the different kinds of meds for adhd…I think teachers and schools are giving these meds to simply shut the kids up these days…
