How old was “Alice in Wonderland” author Lewis Carroll when he died?
Lewis Carroll was 66 when he died on January 14th, 1898. He was born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson in the little parsonage of Daresbury in Cheshire,, and used the psuedonym Lewis Carroll. He came up with his pen name by translating his first two names into the Latin “Carolus Lodovicus” and then anglicizing it into “Lewis Carroll.” He was best known for his books Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland(1865) and Through the Looking Glass(1872). I didn’t know until this that Carroll was also a photographer! You can see some of his children’s photos here. Sources: http://www.insite.com.br/rodrigo/text/lewis_carroll.
