You can look up Joseph Henry and a lot of other people of interest on Wikipedia on line. Henry accomplished a lot of important things in his life. I didn't read anything about the telegraph. There is a huge statue of him in front of the Smithsonian Institution in D.C. He was born Dec.17,1797 and died May 13, 1878. Just look up his name and the Wikipedia will come up.
