How reliable is the Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron 8-Inch Skillet?
A cast iron skillet of any kind, almost, can be considered very reliable. They heat slowly and evenly. They don’t break, they don’t bend, and they are almost impossible to wear out–it has a lifetime guarantee. So yes, I would say that this particular one is reliable for those main reasons. Plus, they are great to cook with, and being pre-seasoned is a plus–it’s ready to go! But, I would also encourage you to get one that’s a bit bigger than 8″, unless there is a specific cooking reason you want this size. An 8″ pan is pretty small, and won’t have as much use as a larger one, even a 12″ one. One of the reviews of this product says “The American-based company Lodge has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. No other metal is as long-lasting and works as well for spreading and retaining heat evenly during cooking.” That sounds like a high recommendation for a fine product.
