Sting is “beside himself with worry” after his daughter suffered a serious head injury. The musician – real name Gordon Sumner – and wife Trudie Styler dashed to the intensive care unit at a Los Angeles hospital where Coco Sumner was taken after fracturing her skull last week. The teenage singer was dining with a friend when she complained of feeling unwell. After standing up, she stumbled, hitting her head on a chair as she fell. A source said: “Coco went flying and landed with a real crash. She really took a tumble. One of the waiters helped her to her feet but she complained that she didn’t feel well. “The staff and Coco’s friend were very concerned and called for an ambulance and Coco was taken to hospital. No one was taking any chances as it was quite a scary fall. She hadn’t had anything to drink and it happened quite early into the evening. “The doctors are still running tests. Coco has five siblings. Her half-brother Joseph Sumner (born 1976) is the lead singer of the band Fiction Plane. Coco’s half-sister is actress Fuchsia Catherine “Kate” Sumner (born 1982). Coco’s sister Bridget Michael “Mickey” Sumner (born 1984) is a filmmaker and artist; and Coco’s two brothers are Jake Sumner (born 1985) and Giacomo Luke Sumner (born 1995). Coco, Mickey and Kate Sumner had supporting roles in the film Stardust and Coco was featured in Burberry’s spring/summer 2008 advertising campaign alongside Agyness Deyn, Lily Donaldson, Alex Pettyfer, Eddie Redmayne, and Blondelle. In 2008, she signed with Island Records and is currently recording her debut album in Jamaica.
