How severe is downloading pirate software from emule/BT?
It is most definitely illegal in the U.S. (and just about any other country), however there are thousands upon thousands of people out there downloading pirated material. The ones that are really risking their butts are the ones providing or distributing the downloads. While I don’t condone or encourage it, you can download music, movies, and software all day every day and you will more than likely never get so much as a slap on the hand from any law enforcement. In my opinion, aside from legal action, your primary concern should be viruses. Be sure to have good anti-virus software installed (I personally prefer Norton) and keep up on the updates. Another bit of advice: in the highly unlikely event that you do get locked up for piracy, do not drop the soap. If you do, and you absolutely must pick it up, kick it to the corner, and make sure your backside is facing that corner before you pick it up. Best of luck to you. P.S.
