As far as Jewish holidays in December of 2009, the only one is Chanukah. The first candle lighting is the evening of Friday, December 11, 2009. The last full day of Chanukah December 19, 2009. The majority of people work. You need to keep the following in mind: the work week in Israel starts on Sunday. The majority of people do not work on Friday.
