How soon after sex can i do a pregnancy test?
Usually the day your period is due. Some pregnancy tests however can detect the pregnancy hormone up to 4 days before your period is due. It really depends on when in your cycle you had sex. There are literally only about 5 days a month you can get pregnant – usually exactly 14 days after the first day of your period ie. if i came on my period today Sunday 7th – then my ovulation (when the egg is released) date would be Sunday 21st. You can include 4 days prior to this as sperm can last up to 4 days inside you, and one day after ovulation as the egg only last 24 hours if it is not fertilised. Therefore using the dates above you would be fertile between 17th Sep and 22nd if your period started today. Basically in answer to your question you can do a test 4 days before your period is due if you buy the appropriate ‘early’ pregnancy test.
