How strongly do you think being on medication affects perception of questions, answers, and comments?
There are many variables with medications, depending upon what body system they are designed to work on and also the conditions being treated. Medications that act on the CNS (Central Nervous System) are more likely to affect concentration, judgement, and perception. If a person is on psychotropic medication for a psychiatric illness or condition, this may impair their level of alertness, etc. Narcotic pain relievers and other “controlled substances” can potentially alter a person’s cognition. A really good reference is the fda.gov (food and drug administration) and medlineplus.gov for medication and health-related topics. Also, most name-brand medications on the market all have their own website for reference (i.e., “Lexapro.com.”) Always ask your doctor and/or pharmacist how a new medication may affect you, and use caution accordingly.
