How the marriage proposals received be Elizabeth from Mr Collins and Mr Darcy?

Dear Questioner Lizzy did not care for Mr. Collins, she declined him when he proposed and he was really shocked. Her mother thought she was silly to refuse him and tried to persuade her. Her father spoke to her privately in his study and after a short discussion he said:- ‘Well Lizzy it would seem that one of your parents is entirely lost to you from this point on, your mother says that she will never speak to you again if you do not marry Mr Collins….. and I will never speak to you again if you do.’ Towards the end of the book, Lizzy goes for a walk with Mr. Darcy. He casual asks if her feelings towards him are the same as expressed previously and she equally casually replies; No they are not. What a pity that people do not still possess that kind of controlled dignity. What really comes across in the book is that both Darcy and Lizzy are equally proud and predjudiced but for different reasons. Hope you like the book it’s one of my favourites.
