how to box in a pipe

Jason Johns

1.  Determine size of the box needed to cover pipe.

2.  Fasten battens, strips of squared wood, on either side of pipe.

3.  Measure and cut box material to fasten to battens.  Particle board or MDF will be fine.  You will need three pieces.

4. Fasten one piece to each of the battens forming a “U” type shape with the pipe to be covered at the bottom.

5.  Fasten final piece over opening.  This will form a “box” using your wall as one of the sides.
