unless u have booked a vacation package, which can SOMETIMES contain a refundable flight, u cant get a refund for the flight portion of ur vacation.. however, if u cancel ur flight reservations before ur departure u can still use the amount that u paid for within a year from the date that u purchase them (with chnage fee and fare difference of course).. most hotel reservations done online will have a cancellation time period.. check on the rules and restriction (its mostly 3days) so if u cancel within those days, u may get ur money back minus the cancellation fee... dont wait till the last minute to cancel tho... having an insurance will not cover the flight portion of ur vacation package IF the flight tickets are non refundable..  more
