How to Choose, Buy, & Use a Baby Car Seat – Is my child ready for a Booster seat?

The age an weight of your child play a big role in what carseat to buy.  The American Academy of Pediatrics reccomends keeping youy child rear facing until at least two.  Many high weight limit convertable seats exist such as the Graco MyRide 65 and the Sunshine Kids Radian 65.  Both rear-face to 40 lbs.  Children should then ride in a forward facing carseat until at least 4 years and 40lbs.  You know your child is ready to be boostered when he or she no longer fits in a regular carseat and/or the child can sit properly.  That means the child will sit up and not move the seat straps.
