How to design an ESL curriculum for kindergarten children?

ESL is English as a Second Language. At the age of 3-5, which is Preschool age, I would think there is no need of an ESL curriculum. Preschool teaches the basics of the English Language already. The only thing I would strongly recommend is that you speak to them strictly in proper English. At first, they will just look at you with a blank face, but eventually, they will see how the other English speaking kids are following your specific instructions. Then they will learn to associate certain instructions with certain behaviours and then start to make connections between the words and its meanings. Don’t be surprised if the quiet non-English speaking students starts to tell you long detailed stories in English by the end of the year. Children at this age absorb literally like a sponge and it will be a fun and successful experience by the end of Preschool. I guarantee it! Good Luck! And my salutes to all teachers!
