How to diagnose a magneto ignition?

0

remember me, i never had the luxury of having to work on that.the bike should be electronic ignition, unless you had a points plate that installed above connected to the cam,but outside that aluminum adapter that seals the cam and timing chain.now if its points, it may be a gap issue, or a bad condenser.i dont know much about the electronic system.but i do know this, there should be a metal basket bolted to the mag.if you wrap a rope around that, pinching the first wrap with the second to keep it from pulling loose till unwound will help you work on it..just use it like a starter bell, and some even have a notch already to hold a rope.
