How to fix the communication error I always get when trying to update drivers with Driver Detective?
A. If you are getting an error when Driver Detective is running then they will fall under one of the following categories. Proxy errors- If you are using a proxy make sure you enter the proxy server information in Driver Detective otherwise it will not be able to connect and update your drivers. 400 Code Errors- If you are getting an error with code 400, then it means you are getting a bad request error. This often happens when users have Norton Tools or VCOM Professional Suite installed. To fix this problem you can try to upgrade these problems. If things are still not alleviating, then uninstalling them might be the last resort. Communication errors- You might experience communication errors when Driver Detective seems to disconnect while you are downloading your drivers. In this case your internet connection might be flaky or your firewall is not configured correctly. Always allow Driver Detective communicate to the internet using either port 80 or port 443.
