If you wear makeup, use a cream makeup remover first. Then use a mild cleansing soap such as Ivory or Dove. Finally use an astringent toner to clean away any residual soap and bring your face back to a balanced pH.
You may make your own toner by combining 1 part apple cider vinegar with 2 parts water. Do not get near your eyes.
To remove blackheads, apply a paste made up of lemon juice, honey and ground oatmeal over the affected area and let dry. Then rinse away. Repeat as needed. Lemon juice is antibacterial as is honey and oatmeal draws toxins from the skin.
