How to get my sims 2 downloads to show up?

First, most custom content for Sims 2 is downloaded in compressed files, ie zip or rar files, so you’ll need to uncompress the files using a program for that purpose. I use WinZip for zip files and WinRAR for rar files. All regular custom content should have a .package extension. Next, unless you get instructions with the custom content advising you otherwise, custom content should be placed in your Sims 2 Downloads folder. Look for …\My Documents\EA Games\Sims 2\Downloads and if it doesn’t exist then create it in the Sims 2 folder. Now, start up the game. If the custom content is an object you should find it in your game under Buy Mode or Build Mode. If it is a recolor of another object, then look for the object and you should see the new color options. If the custom content is a mod/hack then you should see the effects while playing the game.
