how to get rid of ants?

There are many ways to deter ants from invading your personal space using just what you find in your kitchen!

First give the area a good cleaning.  Be sure to get rid of all the crumbs and clean up any sticky surfaces.

Open your fridge and cupboard and see which of the following items you have handy:

  • Cucumbers (the more bitter, the better)
  • Lemon Juice
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Cinnamon
  • Peppermint Oil
  • Clove Oil
  • Baking Soda
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Vinegar
  • Chalk (yes, the kind your teacher used in school…)

You can shove garlic cloves in any cracks that seem to be entry points for ants.  You can put lemong juice or vinegar in a spray bottle and spray down your surfaces.  You can make a line of cayenne pepper (or even black pepper), baking soda or chalk (yes, just draw with it) where you see ants coming into your space.  The oils can be mixed with water and sprayed around as well.

There is no need to use toxic chemicals in your living space when these foods can do the trick!
