How to Install Door Trim
It is actually quite easy to install door trim and makes a big difference in the look of the doorway. You can actually purchase trim pieces that are pre-cut for this job which is probably the best thing to do unless you own a miter saw. The corners are the most difficult thing to cut as you must angle them just right to butt up against each other. You should start on the sides by placing the side board against the door frame opening and make it flush with the opening. You can then nail it in place. Do this for each side and then nail in your top board. You can now paint this to match the rest of your trim.
