How to know if hes getting enough/lactation?

0

If he’s growing he’s getting enough. I used to take my babys clothes off so he’d stay awake longer while feeding him. Or move him around if he starts to fall asleep. I could never pump any out the first time I breast fed. That doesn’t mean there’s not enough milk in there, it just means your not relaxed enough to release it. It’s always easier for your letdown reflex to work when there is an actual baby there, pumps are so cold. The most important thing is for you to keep feeding him breast milk exclusively. He’ll eventually start staying awake longer and how much he drinks from you will tell your body how much to make and you’ll eventually catch up, supplementing with formula will mess you up. I had the same fears and issues and I just kept at it and it worked out fine. BTW I also remember there were times when mine didn’t poop that much either. It seems to be normal.
