How to make a bedskirt?

There’s no better way to hide monsters (and boxes of sweaters) than with a slipcover. Start with one giant piece of elastic. Fit the entire length around your bedframe or box spring. Measure the length of the circumference and from the top of the elastic to the floor and purchase material accordingly. Cut the fabric to the desired length/height. Take the elastic and place it 2″ below the edge of your material. Using hem tape and a hot iron, fold the edge over the elastic and secure with the tape. For the bottom edge, do the same without elastic. Add small washers inside the hem for better hang. Once you have the elastic inside the top hem, you’re ready to attach the ends and place it around your bed. Depending on the length of the material, you’ll either have a gathered or straight bedskirt. You can even change it from time to time by hiding the extra length behind your headboard. Wash frequently to avoid dust mites!
