How to Measure Tire Wear?

To measure tire wear, take a thin ruler and place it all the way within one tread of a tire. If the tread does not measure more than 1/16th of an inch, then the tire needs to be replaced. If you do not have a thin ruler, use a penny. Insert the penny with Lincoln going in head down. When the penny is in all the way, you should not be able to see the top of Lincoln’s head.
