How to play hopscotch?
In order to play the game of hopscotch you need to first draw out the course onto sidewalk with chalk. The first player tosses a stone or a marker of some kind into the first square. The marker must land completely within the square and it must never touch a line or bounce out. The player will then hop around the square in which the marker landed. Single squares must be hopped around with one foot. For the first single square, either foot may be used and this method should be perfectly fine. Side by side squares are typically straddled. You may also have the option of creating a “home” or “safe” square in which players may hop onto or around the square any way they choose without any kind of penalty.
