How to prevent Mother-to-Child HIV Transmission?
If women get infected with HIV before or during pregnancy, HIV can pass to the child during last trimester of pregnancy, during birth delivery and during breastfeeding. To prevent HIV Mother-to-Child transmission, mother should be educated and encouraged to get HIV tested during pregnancy. There are hospitals which partly offer national prenatal care program including of HIV testing center and counseling.
