How to prevent shin splints?
Shin splits can be very painful and the best thing to do is to prevent them. Make sure you are wearing shoes that are a good fit with good arch support. Try not to let your feet strike the ground too hard and always try to run on a soft surface and stay away from concrete or asphalt surfaces. Gently stretch before and after strenuous activity. If you feel pain you need to stop because continuing can make it worse.
