How to read Model Year from the VIN?

0

“Model year” is encoded in the 10th position of the VIN. It should always be a letter for 1981-2000 vehicles, a number for 2001-2009 vehicles and a letter for 2010 and forward. Note that the year code can be the calendar year in which a vehicle is built, or a model or type year allocated by the manufacturer.
