Drain coolant. Loosen water pump pulley bolts and remove serpentine belt. ON V6 ENGINES, unbolt and move the power steering pump bracket remove hoses from the pump. Remove water pump pulley and unbolt the pump.It may be necessary to tap the pump with a soft face hammer to break the gasket seal. ON V8 ENGINES. Remove the fan. Remove all hoses from the water pump.disconnect the coolant temp sensor from the pump and unclip the wire harness from the 2 clips on the faceplate of the water pump.unbolt the ign coil bracket and move it out of the way. Unbolt the air pump which is below the coil.remove 2 bolts that hold the air pump bracket and move it over.remove the 6 bolts holding the pump to the block. If neccessary, tap with soft face hammer to break gasket seal. INSTALLATION.clean the gasket contact surfaces. Place gasket sealer on the new gasket an place it on the pump. On V8s you should replace the o ring on the spline at the engine block end and dont force the new pump over them. .place
