How to translate EBCDIC to ASCII?
Problem: We need RPM Remote Print Manager™ to translate EBCDIC to ASCII. Answer: RPM has a native EBCDIC translator, which can handle not only US EBCDIC but European language extensions from a variety of countries. Follow these steps to use the EBCDIC translator: • Select “Edit Queues” from the “Queues” menu in RPM. • Choose which queue you want to translate from the drop-down queue list. • Press the “Print Data Options” button. • In the “Transform” tab, check “EBCDIC”. Also, you can choose (from the drop-down list) to have RPM use a different language for translation. By default, RPM will pick the language closest to your computer’s locale setting.
