Knock over more pins than anyone else. If you can't spin the ball, (it's difficult to do if you're a starter) then go for a light to medium weight ball and concentrate on bowling hard but straight. Bowl just to the left or the right of the front pin, try to make it so you hit half of the pin. If you hit dead centre then you are more likely to leave a split. (a pin on either side of the lane). Don't use a ball you find difficult to lift, as you won't be able to get as much power behind it. Release the ball as your arm flows through, so the ball just glides out of your hand and down the lane. Don't release too late, or the ball will go through the air before landing and this will take a lot of momentum and speed out of the ball, as well as accuracy. Finally, good luck and happy birthday!  more
